Celebrity couple Meera and Vikram Gandhi, whose 28-year marriage has been on a roller-coaster ride, are back together. The couple recently celebrated their daughter Kanika's 21st birthday at the swanky Local 212 restaurant in Rhode Island, New York. Meera is the CEO and founder of the Giving Back Foundation, while her husband Vikram is an investment banker in New York.
There were rumours of a new woman in Vikram's life, which led to the couple growing apart. However, the couple was reported to have been working hard at saving the marriage. Speaking exclusively to ET Panache, Meera says she is in a more peaceful state regarding the marriage, adding that her family is now priority. "With our three children in the US, one parent needs to be on hand. I am glad to be there for them. Travelling constantly and being in so many time zones was not good for the family", she says. Meera believes in consolidating her strengths and leaving negativity behind. "Life is good. So many people wanted my marriage to work and sent good wishes our way - it was amazing," she says. Apart from her work with the foundation, Meera manages the couple's homes in London, New York and Florida, including the tony Eleanor Roosevelt House in NYC.
The family has just bought a 10-acre weekend home on the Hudson river. After what they have been through, the couple holds gratitude for where they are now. "In all matters of the heart or mind, business or personal, one has to lead with love and kindness", Meera says.
