United World Scholarship Awards - Meera Gandhi

Several proud parents were among invited guests when United World College T&T (UWC) announced the award of scholarships to five secondary school students to do the rigorous International Baccalaureate in place of the Cape examination at UWC TT office, Alcazar Street, St Clair on August 3.

The 2015 UWC scholarship winners are Akil Manswell and Stephen Quesnel who will go to UWC Costa Rica; Gabrielle Branche who will go to the UWC Robert Bosch College in Germany; and, Paige Barcant and Leighia Waterman who will attend the UWC Montezuma in New Mexico, USA.

Upon graduation, these students will join an international alumni of more than 55,000, including notable leaders such as humanitarian Meera Gandhi, Botswana President Ian Khama, King Willem-Alexander, King of the Netherlands, noted Oxford University Professor of Criminology Federico Varese, former Nokia Corporation chairman Jorma Ollila, and Robert Milton, chairman of Air Canada, to name a few.

Several UWC alumni were present for the 2015 scholarship announcement.
